5 Ways to Introduce Wellness into Your Daily Routine
Looking to introduce an all-natural wellness regimen into your daily regimen without breaking the bank? Here are 5 simple ways to begin by using essential oils:
1. Ditch your candles
Let me start by saying I used to be one of the biggest candle lovers out there, I totally understand enjoying the smell of a warm sugar cookie on a winter day or fresh, clean linen on a lazy Sunday. But what if I said you could get those same satisfying scents for the same amount of money, while receiving double the health benefits? Well I'm here to tell you, you can.
By diffusing Young Living essential oils, you get way more for your money. Most of my absolute favorite oils to diffuse are under $20 a bottle (and even cheaper for wholesale members). Not only can I blend together some pretty intoxicating scents, like Summer Breeze and Snickerdoodle, but I also reap the benefits of having those essential oils in my system.
I'm about to get a little nerdy here, but it's important to understand exactly how those benefits work. Essential oils are basically the "life blood" of plants. They naturally align with our bodies' needs, and because of this perfect match up, they work quickly, too! When inhaled, ingested, or applied to your body, essential oils can purify your cells, stop the growth of wounded cells, and mend and repair original DNA memory. And if that's not enough for you, consider the emotional benefits. Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unmotivated, tired, or frustrated? "Diffuse your situation" with a few drops of essential oils and you will begin to feel much better.
Oh, and one of the best parts about diffusing is that you can do it almost anywhere, at any time... without the lingering fear that you might burn the place down if you forget about it ;)
2. Nix your nasty cleaning supplies
Think about a time when you cleaned your kitchen counter and then put a fresh piece of food to prepare down right afterward or when you cleaned your whole bathroom with bleach and your throat started to hurt. Now think about all the chemicals you absorbed, all the chemicals you allowed to freely enter your body, with your permission. Let me just tell you, there's a reason your cleaning supplies were less than $5 a bottle - because they're filled to the brim with cheap toxins.
You can, however, switch over to YL Thieves Household Cleaner, an all-natural cleaner made up of a blend of essentials oils such as Rosemary and Lemon. One 14oz bottle of Thieves Cleaner can make about twelve 16oz bottles of cleaning spray. This stuff is so incredible that it can be used to clean your entire home, and you don't have to worry about any poison control labels on the back.
In case you were wondering, it actually works, too. Studies have shown that Thieves Household Cleaner not only cleans better than store brands, but it keeps areas cleaner for a longer period of time. Seems like a no-brainer to me!
3. Reform your skincare routine
Okay ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't checked out the Think Dirty app yet, now's your chance. I was SHOCKED when I first saw the ratings of my favorite skincare products... it made me want to run for the hills! But believe me when I say, it's not too late to switch out what's on your chemical-laden counter for a few natural products. There are so many simple DIY recipes out there for toners, moisturizers, cleansers, body washes, you name it, that all include a minimal ingredients and a couple drops of essential oils. And if you're not a DIY-er, check out some of YL's personal care products made with the best ingredients out there.
Oh, and if you're already spending your life savings at Sephora, I dare you to try the new Savvy Minerals cosmetics line. I am loving the foundation on my skin! If you're one of those people (like me), who breaks out after wearing foundation all day and night, Savvy Minerals is the only way to go. I can't stress how beautiful, clean, and covered my face feels when I wear it.
I know what you're thinking, "I don't have a problem with my skincare products, so why should I change?" Let me tell you why. Women, specifically, apply hundreds of chemicals to their skin every single day. These chemicals all bioaccumulate in our bodies and make a big, bad difference over time. You may not feel it now, but your body will thank you later when you've detoxified your routine and you're feeling healthy and well. Just keep in mind, one product at a time is all it takes!
4. Add an oil a day
If you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure about jumping into a new, all-natural wellness routine, I have another option for you. All you need to do is add one oil to your day. YL Thieves essential oil, for example is a fantastic way to start! Rub Thieves on the bottom of your feet every single night before bed, and you may find yourself beating the nasty bug all your coworkers are getting. Add a drop of YL Lemon essential oil to your daily water intake, and you may start to notice smoother skin. Diffuse YL Lavender essential oil at bedtime for a peaceful night of sleep. Apply YL Stress Away essential oil to your temples before a big meeting to help calm your nerves.
There are so many options for adding one essential oil to your day, depending on what you feel your routine needs. It's a fantastic way to start introducing essential oils into your life, especially if you're on a budget!
5. Become a YL wholesale member
Any Young Living member will tell you the undisputed best way to start implementing your all-natural wellness regimen is to become a wholesale member. I didn't believe it until I did it, but my life has, without a doubt, changed since I became a member. The Young Living wholesale membership is a one time fee, good for the rest of your life, and it gives you access to wholesale pricing on all products.
Now, I would be lying if I told you I took the plunge right away. In fact, it took me a solid 8 months before I was convinced. So, whether you're ready to dive in and immerse yourself as a wholesale member, or just looking to try one of the above ways to kick start a new routine, I am 100% here for it.
